What is the correct dealerstock procedure?
A motor dealer needs to make sure that a vehicle is “Dealer Stocked” into the name of the dealership when it is traded in. That then allows the dealer to sell the vehicle to a new owner.
In order to “Dealer Stock” a vehicle you need the original Log Book in the name of the person who traded it in. If the vehicle is still being financed, then it has to be fully paid up by the dealer, who then requests the log book from the bank. Then, dealer stock’s the vehicle as their own, and the original owner falls away. This procedure should be done prior to selling a vehicle.
Now let’s get your dealership in order and get you listed as a motor dealer!
